What Makes LDI Different
- We “build
and hold” good companies over
long periods of time
We
understand the challenges of building long-term value engines and we
are more patient than most private equity firms. We understand
risk-adjusted returns and the importance of investing though
business cycles. We are not focused on attaining a targeted IRR
within five years or less. Our average investment hold
period exceeds 15 years.
We are
not a private equity fund and our funding has no expiration date.
We make decisions quickly and are flexible regarding structure and
special needs of founder and family-run businesses. We typically
prefer 100% ownership and we are a cash buyer (no financing
contingency).
- We have been owned by the Lacy family
since 1912
As a
fourth generation family business, we are sensitive to unique needs
of family-owned enterprises and our small team is extremely discrete
at all times. We have a long, steady track record of building value.
- We have a strong entrepreneurial spirit
We aren’t afraid
to take calculated risks when necessary. We offer
rewarding opportunities and attractive long-term incentives for talented management.
- We have solid Midwest values and a
global perspective
We work
hard, deal fairly and execute quickly. We also understand the
nuances and opportunities associated with international markets.
- We are committed to our community
We are
responsible corporate citizens and like to invest regionally, if
possible. We encourage broad community involvement and support
local organizations.
